Turn right into Old Main Rd from SH2 heading South from the Pakipaki roundabout.
Turn left into Anderson Rd from Old Main Rd and follow it until you reach the Horonui Satation gate.
On club days the gate is unlocked about 1 hour prior to shooting comencing and access is monitored.
1000y Range: Is located a few hundred meters past the gate on the right hand side of the road. It's a concrete platform with 4 large silencer boxes off the edge of the platform. Park on the side of the road so other vehicles can get past. You may have to walk some distance as the road is narrow and parking limited.
300y & 600y Range: Is located up a valley to the right of Anderson Rd. Drive until you reach a wooden gate with a 'Range' sign pointing to the right. Turn into the road immediately on the right after going through the gate. This leads up a gentle hill where the limestone road ends. Turn left into the first gate and follow the dirt/grass farm road up the hill.
At the top of the hill you'll see a flag pole on your left and a STOP sign on your right. Stop and call on the radio to get the all-clear to proceed. Do not proceed unless the all clear is given as live-firing could be under way. The radio is always monitored but may not always be heard if firing is in progress. If there is no answer, keep trying. Do not proceed until told to.
Immediately to the left of the STOP sign you will see the targets.
300y Range: This is surprisingly about 300y further up the farm road from the top of the hill with the STOP sign. Access to the 300y Range is through a gate about 100y before the range. Turn left through the gate and proceed up the steep hill to the left of the shooting platform.
600y Range: This is also rather surprisingly about 600y from the top of the hill with the STOP sign. Drive up the farm road until the 600y shooting platform is on your right. Park next to the road leaving space for cars to get past. Access to the 600y Range is via a fence crossing and steep climb up a usually cow pitted field.
Even though it's only a short distange to the ranges from SH2, allow about 10 minutes extra to get to the 1000y range and 15-20 minutes extra to get to the 300y & 600y ranges.
